Some demons come from within. This one really comes from within.

Plot

Duncan, a mild-mannered and chronically stressed office worker, discovers that his crippling anxiety has manifested into something far more literal — a small, razor-toothed demon living in his intestines. When stress levels peak, Milo emerges with murderous intent, targeting anyone who has wronged his reluctant host. On the advice of a hypnotherapist, Duncan attempts to bond with and control the creature before it tears his life — and everyone in it — apart.

Critic Reviews

๐Ÿ—ž️ The Guardian

"Fitfully amusing and gleefully disgusting. Bad Milo! knows exactly what it is and wears it proudly — a creature feature with genuine heart tucked somewhere between the gross-out gags."

๐Ÿ—ž️ Bloody Disgusting

"A surprisingly tender film hiding inside a very, very gross premise. Marino carries the absurdity with straight-faced charm and Milo himself is a practical effects delight."

๐Ÿ—ž️ AV Club

"More sweet than savage. The horror takes a backseat to an oddly touching story about a man learning to confront his anxieties — literal and otherwise."

User Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The stress relief movie I never knew I needed" by CultFilmFan_Nairobi — July 2014

Ridiculous in the best possible way. Milo is somehow adorable despite being a murderous butt demon. Ken Marino is perfectly cast.

⭐⭐⭐ "Funny but uneven" by HorrorComedy101 — August 2014

The concept is gold and the first act delivers. It loses momentum midway but finds its footing again by the finale. Worth it for genre fans.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Criminally underrated" by MidnightMovieBuff — January 2015

This film should have a much bigger cult following. Practical creature effects, genuine laughs, and a weirdly moving emotional core. Don't sleep on Bad Milo!

⭐⭐ "Not for everyone" by MainstreamViewer — March 2014

If the premise grosses you out, the film won't change your mind. But if you can get past it, there's a decent little comedy in there.

Critic Consensus

Bad Milo! is a lovably deranged creature feature that succeeds by leaning fully into its absurd premise. It's messy, uneven, and thoroughly bizarre — but for cult horror-comedy fans, that's precisely the point. Milo may live in the most uncomfortable of places, but he burrows just as effectively into your memory.
