Plot
San Francisco detective Nick Curran is assigned to investigate the brutal ice-pick murder of a retired rock star. The prime suspect? Catherine Tramell — a strikingly beautiful, frighteningly brilliant crime novelist who seems to know more about the murder than she should. The problem is, the details of the killing match her latest book almost perfectly. The bigger problem? Nick can't stay away from her.
As the investigation deepens, Nick finds himself drawn into a seductive, deadly game of cat and mouse where nothing is what it seems, nobody can be trusted and the line between hunter and prey dissolves with every encounter. Catherine is either the most dangerous woman he has ever met — or the most dangerous woman alive. Either way, he is already too deep to get out.
